Bollmann & Roets builds bespoke systems for sales and service in the Mittelstand. Our clients all have IT landscapes that grew rather than were designed: (often homegrown) ERP systems, CRM tools, a mix of file formats, thin documentation, and processes that mostly live in the heads of a few experts. Structured, pragmatic, and hands-on with the client, you develop the architecture that the IT landscape needs.

What You'll Do

You translate the client's reality into an architecture that can go into build the next day. Your day-to-day:

• Understand the as-is. You go to the client, talk to the people who live the process every day, and map the architecture as it actually is: data models, interfaces, system boundaries, unwritten rules.
• Design the target state. With the B&R tech stack close at hand, the diagnosis becomes a lean, evolutionary architecture: pragmatic cuts that deliver value immediately. You decide what becomes its own system, what docks onto what already exists, what should be bought rather than built, and what stays untouched for now, and you can say why.
• Build in the B&R stack. TypeScript, Bun, Hono, React, PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM: a modern, lean stack. You make the architecture decisions on client projects and answer for whether they hold up.
• Make agentic engineering concrete. Wherever AI works inside the system, you define the boundaries: what the harness looks like, what the agent is allowed to do, what a human checks, where the data lives. You integrate LLMs into deterministic systems, and make sure the two work together reliably.
• Develop the solution building blocks further. What you learn becomes the starting point for the next iteration of the B&R tech stack. Together with product management, you develop the next reusable building blocks: from quoting through customer portals and service to harness configuration. You drive that work forward.
• Hand knowledge over. We don't lock our clients in. You design and build closely with them and their partners so that, ideally, the client themselves or one of their partners could carry the system forward without us. That's why clean cuts and clear dependencies matter to you.

What We Expect

• You've designed and built systems for real business processes, including all the complexity around them: migration, integration, organisational resistance.
• The ability to read and design data models. You can look at an existing database and understand which process sits behind it, and where that process breaks.
• Experience with heterogeneous IT landscapes: ERP connections, legacy interfaces, data migration. Configuring SAP is optional, being able to talk to it isn't.
• Your own technical standards. You write code yourself when the architecture decision calls for it.
• The ability to talk to the business side: you can explain to a sales leader why their three spreadsheets won't scale, as an equal and with respect.
• Fluent German, confident English.

Salary

From EUR 85,000 gross per year.
