Bollmann & Roets builds bespoke systems for sales and service in the Mittelstand. Normally that means a Discovery Day, a build measured in weeks, then Continuous Tailoring. When a company is under time and cash pressure (a turnaround, a restructuring, real distress), the same capability applies, just under a lot more pressure. What You'll Do

You're the engineer for situations where time is the scarcest resource there is. Your assignment:

• On site. You go into the company that's in trouble and work exactly where the problems are: on the shop floor, with the people who live it.
• Build systems that free up cash. Quoting processes that run again. Service that becomes billable. Data that can actually support a decision. You build whatever makes the company operationally capable again.
• Work from the B&R toolbox. Under time pressure, you rely on our own patterns and building blocks: quoting process, customer portal, service system, and the tech stack behind them (TypeScript, Bun, Hono, agentic AI). Whatever you learn in the field flows straight back into those building blocks.
• Deliver in weeks. The time horizon is weeks. You make architecture decisions under uncertainty and still build something that holds up.
• Carry the responsibility, with the team at your back. On site, you're the one who decides and builds. That takes the courage to make fast, pragmatic calls. The whole B&R engineering team stands behind you; we watch each other's backs.
• Hand over and leave. What you build belongs to the company. When you leave, the system needs to run without you: documented, clean, ready for someone else to take on.

What We Expect

• A track record of systems delivered under real time pressure. You've built things that went into production, under conditions that were anything but ideal.
• Full-stack ability: you can get a system running from the database to the UI on your own, if that's what it takes.
• A fast read on business processes. You sit down with a sales leader on day one and understand within two hours where the process breaks. Industry knowledge is a plus, the ability to learn fast is a requirement.
• Judgement and reliability under pressure. You make decisions with incomplete information, trust the team and proven patterns, and keep a cool head.
• Willingness to travel and to take on assignments on site that run for several weeks.
• Fluent German, confident English.

Salary

From EUR 95,000 gross per year. Travel and on-site assignments are priced in.
